What the job includes

What affects the price
Every site is different, so the quote is confirmed for your home before work starts. These are the things that genuinely change it:
Split or window unit
A window unit is a simpler fit. A split needs two units mounted, copper piping run and the system vacuumed, so it takes longer.
Distance between indoor and outdoor units
Standard piping covers most rooms. Longer runs need extra copper pipe, insulation and wiring, and sometimes additional gas.
Wall type and drilling
Brick walls are routine. Stone, concrete or tiled walls take longer to core and may need extra hardware.
Stand, bracket and outdoor access
A new stand or bracket, or an outdoor position needing ladder work at height, adds material and labour.
Shifting versus new fit
Shifting is an uninstallation plus an installation, and reused piping is inspected — worn insulation or damaged flares are replaced.
Gas top-up after a shift
If pressure is low after refitting, gas charging is quoted separately and only after a pressure test — never added by default.
